Frequently Asked Questions - Covid 19
Covid-19
This page contains extra information and changes on how we operate due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Please check this page regularly, it will be updated in line with NHS and Ramblers guidelines.
What has changed?
We have to limit the number of people can join us on the walk so they are no longer “just turn up” instead all walks will need to be pre-booked in advance. The maximum of people allowed on a walk will range from 6 to 15 dependant on the outcome of Covid Risk Assessment for each walk. We are also legally required to collect and hold your contact details for Track and Trace purposes. We are following a new risk assessment and new measures on our walks to try to help reduce the risk of Covid spread. We may need to change/cancel our walk at short notice so please keep a close eye on the website.
The days before the walk
- You need to book on to the walk. Numbers are limited. If you can no longer attend a walk you are booked on then please cancel your booking to allow others to attend instead.
- Please check the website regularly for any updates or cancellation announcements.
- If your mobile supports the NHS Covid-19 Test and Trace App, we recommend installing it.
Morning of the walk
- Check the website for any last minute updates.
- We recommend bringing a face mask and hand sanitizer with you.
- If you feel unwell in any way at all, then you must not join the walk.
Start of walk
- At the start of the walk, the walk leader or a committee member will take your contact details for the Track and Trace register. This is a legal requirement.
- The walk leader will give you a summary of the walk along with any hazards.
- If your mobile supports the NHS Covid-19 Test and Trace App, please activate its scanning feature.
During the walk
- Please follow all advice and guidance provided by the walk leader.
- There may be gates and styles on walks that other people will have touched. Therefore we would recommend using hand sanitizer before eating food, touching your face etc.
